J. B. O. - Wer Lässt Die Sau Raus Award winner

J. B. O.
Wer Lässt Die Sau Raus
by "Metal Mark" Garcia at 04 July 2019, 9:17 AM

From time to time, some comedians gather together and start a Metal band. No, there’s nothing wrong with that, because laughing and enjoying life at its fullest is something that moves the lives of everyone. But to judge such work sometimes is not easy, because writing as you laugh until your belly is aching is not an easy task to be done. And the German quartet J. B. O. is here to show that good music and fun can be mixed, as their album “Wer Lässt Die Sau Raus?!” is here to show.

It’s not easy to explain their musical way with few words. It’s Metal played with very good melodies, a harsh touch that comes from Hardcore and Thrash Metal, but they fill their songs with fun parts and noises that are fun, some parts of non Metal songs (as the insert of BAHA MEN’s “Who Let The Dogs Out”, an old Rap or Funk song, or MC Hammer’s “U Can’t Touch This”), and sang in German (next time, some English lyrics would be welcome). It’s different, it’s Metal, and truly fun and full of energy. The sound quality of the album is truly very good, clean and heavy. But to keep all these elements together, and in their due places was a tribulation for the production (in the same way: he must be laughing at this very moment).

All the songs are very good, and the listener can take all of them to hear, but don’t drive and do another thing, because you laugh and an accident will happen. But “Mach Noch Eins Auf!”, “Wer Lässt Die Sau Raus?!” (one of the funniest songs, with a strong work from guitars), the Thrash Metal comedy on “Hoffen Und Bangen”, the weird comedies made music shown on “Durst” and “Depp”, the powerful funny melodies of “Die Beste Stadt Der Welt”, their Hardcore/Rock version for “Happy Birthday” (try to not laugh on this one), and “Heavy Metal Baby” with its charming tempos are the best songs. But it’s worthy of laughs as well!

But if you’re looking for music, be sure: J. B. O. is excellent as well, so hear “Wer Lässt Die Sau Raus” at the loudest volume possible and enjoy!
