Jackson Firebird - Cock Rockin'

Jackson Firebird
Cock Rockin'

Jackson Firebird is a band from Mildura in Australia, featuring lots of bluesy riffs and attitude. Their album “Cock Rockin’” shows off their flair for jamming out and rocking.

Opening up with title track “Cock Rockin’” the bands kicks straight into the riffage, lots of bluesy sounding guitar licks and an energetic overall sound too, the vocals are very well suited to the style too. “She Said” starts off with a furious sounding drum solo before the guitar joins in with a wandering kind of solo meets jam before getting to the meat of the song, which is another to the point blues rock track with a bit of a stomp to it too.

“Rock Solid” is just as it says, a solid song, with a straight groove to it, nice riffs and cool sound overall. “Quan Dang” is a pretty cool song, with some awesome riffs throughout and quite a cool vocal sound too! A nice guitar solo tops off the performance here. “Red Light” has a really nice old school vibe to it, with a meaty main riff and some awesome drumming. “Little Missy” carries on the vibe, keeping the energy flowing throughout the song, with a fast pace and rapid vocal delivery too. “Can Roll” has quite a dirty sound to it, but it works really well, lots of thick sounding riff and a nice feel to it. “Goin’ Out West” is a song with a cool vibe, with lots of different moments that keep it interesting to listen to. “Sweet Eloise” is another song with a nice old school vibe to it, lots of nice grooving riffs keep heads nodding throughout. The album closes with “Red Hair Honey”, which has some nice big riffs and closes the album in style with some cool chords and start stop riffage that gets a nice groove going.

The album has quite a dirty sound but at the same time it feels quite big; it works really well for this sort of rock ‘n’ roll sound. It’s all very well performed as well.

This is quite a cool album from JACKSON FIREBIRD, with lots of nice riffs and big sounds. It’s exactly as they would say it themselves; this is a no-nonsense, to-the-point rock album.
