Jameson - Keep The Change (EP) (CD)

Jameson
Keep The Change (EP)

JAMESON is the next release for Sonicbids Promotions that I have chosen to review. I must say this is second best band that I have found through Sonicbids, the first being CLAY WITHROW BAND (now titled BRICOLAGE). JAMESON unleashes a brand of Metal that is pretty saturated right now, but they might be a shining light.
Dan and Jason stared the band in 2006 while attend school in Southern California. The rest of the lineup then fell into place over the next year. They are currently playing clubs all over California.
Blood Of The Queen had some interesting Metalcore guitar work with a few progressive tendencies, not Prog Metal just different then regular Metalcore. The second track One is almost entirely instrumental except for maybe a few screams; nothing special there. Witching Hour has some pretty sweet guitar work at the beginning with some basic scales to a more crunchy riff that is kind pummeling and reminds me slightly of MACHINE HEAD, but mostly of GOD FORBID.  The vocals are in the same vein as say AS I LAY DYING.
The first track, Blood Of The Queen, is easily the stand out track. I would recommend this to any fan of Metalcore. With some appearances on last summer's Warped Tour I reckon these guys will be coming to a venue near you. These guys have promise to do something, but they need to stretch their horizons a little more.
