Jesus On Extasy - Beloved Enemy (CD)

Jesus On Extasy
Beloved Enemy
by Harry Papadopoulos at 29 May 2008, 2:24 PM

As our readers know, METAL TEMPLE is a Metal-orientated webzine, but if we believe that there are some albums outside that genre that a true music fan will appreciate, we will write a review. But some other times, we are dealing with albums that we wouldn't listen to if conditions were different.

JESUS ON EXTASY are supposed to be the new hope of the industrial/gothic Metal(???) scene. The Germany-based band had two releases so far. A self-released EP called Assassinate Me and their debut album, Holy Beauty just a year ago. Not much else to say about them.

I was sure that things couldn't be worse than their debut album. How wrong was I. At least they had some decent guitar riffs there. In this album you will listen to music that definitely is not for Metal, Rock or 'gothic' fans. This intermixture of the worst things that MARILYN MANSON ever recorded, trying to have the same air as 69 EYES without even get close and with 'emo' touches in their music and appearance, is not going to get them anywhere. Not to mention that they are trying to steal from bands like VNV NATION and BLUTENGEL and they copied/paste the intro from RAMMSTEIN's Sonne in one of their songs.

Enough said. This album may be OK for little kids still going to elementary school. Stay away. And as MARILYN MANSON once said: You are just a copy of an imitation.
