Khasm - Trinity Award winner

by Craig Rider at 14 June 2018, 3:31 PM

Metal maniacs, rejoice! I am proud to present to you: KHASM; signed via Sliptrick Records, hailing from French grounds - performing Hardcore/Death/Thrash, on their debut album entitled: “Trinity” (released May 15th, 2018).

9 tracks ranging at around 33:69; KHASM arrange an intricately designed formula of heavy-hitting Hardcore/Death/Thrash Metal amalgamations, starting off the opening track: “Shadows” - the quintet in question converge the 3 sub-genres into a proficiently dynamic culmination of diverse distinctions and variety. The hardened hymns are relentlessly raw; fused with consistently flamboyant fabrications of battering aesthetics; energy, crunchy bounces and gritty grooves that delivers a concretely deadly experience. Fuelled with thumpy savagery and sinister technicalities; the band execute a fine slab of solid progressiveness and meticulous rhythms which convey powerful punchline foundations of borderline organic substances, in which are electrically thunderous and strong.

Consisting of Christophe Opresco on vocals; the grunty vocalist supplies distinguished complexity in his performances, “Spartan” showcases a grandiose manifestation of unique elements which implement the raspy growls with guttural efficaciousness to the hardcore hybrid expertly well. Philippe Bordmann on guitars demonstrates dominate dexterity with blistering riffs and solos in “Rise”, which has catchy songwriting memorability and excelling with rich jumpiness for that pulverizing experience. Speaking of pummelling… Kevin Talley distributes fantastic stability of pounding hammering in the song “Cursed”, establishing profusely robust efficiency with maliciously primitive skill.

Deathstroke” establishes rapidly swift nimbleness, as bassist Vincent Berger embellishes on audible persistency - assaulting with rampaging onslaughts of creatively constructive craftsmanship. “Trinity Part 1: Beyond” is a 3 part concept of more salubrious characteristics, this is where the band examines the more melodious blends of vehement versatility. “Trinity Part 2: Serenity” is a 1:46 ritual of devilish orchestration of ambient harmonics, while “Trinity Part 3: Rage” is a mid-tempo finale of finesse, anger and hate - all good stuff. Overall concluding the record with “Dedication”; my expectations were exceeded and I was very surprised with this discovery, KHASM are certainly underground yet they are splendid listen if you ever come across them - brutally masterful.
