King Of Bones - We Are The Law Award winner

King Of Bones
We Are The Law
by Katarzyna Zakolska at 07 March 2013, 3:23 PM

KING OF BONES is a band from São Paulo in Brazil, formed in 2009. “We Are The Law” is the band debut, shipped out quite recently, a message of Hard Rock mixed with Heavy Metal. The band's music shares various of influences ranging from DIO, OZZY OSBOURNE, WHITESNAKE, BLUE MURDER, HAREM SCAREM to SAXON, JUDAS PRIEST and IRON MAIDEN.

The whole album is killer. Opening titled track “We Are The Law” is far reaching with heavy groovy riffing, full loaded guitars, even a bit dopy, a'la Zak Wylde & big time drumming, fantastic melodic chorus with backing efforts, could be a cool sing along. The solo nearly melted my heart.. I found various of elements of MAIDEN, SAXON and JUDAS PRIEST, great British stuff. Worth to listen are: “Find Your Salvation”, played out with a highly crafted rhythm section, melodic riffs an amazing chorus that will move you. There is plenty of passion, catchiness over at the winning moments of “Beginning of the End”. “I Won't Be Wrong” delivers another SAXON like Metal, a bit NWOBHM oriented, with a tight rhythm section, chorus is energetic with great lyrics. “Fly Away” is a heavy ride with a wall of sound that will pierce your soul, also there is a magnificent harmonious chorus that will stick hard in your mind. Following the Heavy Metal vibe, there are also tuneful sounds of Rock 'n' Roll in the vein of “Hell's Pub” for instance. Vocalist Julio Federici has a very clear & strong voice. On the other hand, most of the way is in your face Metal, like “Broken Dreams", supported by mechanist drumming fit for headbanging, and “Time to Believe” where it the slower and rocking ambiance adds flavor to this album. Terrific slow paced drumming, Nigel Glocker's style, bass and low tuned riffs which I admire on “A New Day”, the slow tempo contributes to the magical mood an interesting voice of the singer, perfect, rocking rhythms & a little bluesy feel with similarities to WHITESNAKE.

“We Are The Law” is totally great album, energetic with powerful beats from every piece of music. There are miraculous guitar solos, heavy bloody smooth rhythm guitar riffs, tight rhythm section, lots of melodies and quality singing. This is one of those albums that you will want still listen and comeback to again and again, a great fusion of traditional Hard Rock and Metal Melodies, living for the sake of heaviness.
