Kreator - Terrible Certainty (Reissue) Award winner

Terrible Certainty (Reissue)
by JOGANEGAR at 24 November 2017, 6:14 AM

Whenever I got into an argument as a youngling who had the interest and the time to get involved into arguments about something as passionate yet as ultimately not definite in the circumstances that affect our life directly, at least to those of us that are not professional musicians, Thrash Metal was always my favorite example as one of the most technical and physically demanding sub genres of Metal, the way into which the instruments diverge together to create a single onslaught  with the voice and the melodies of the riffs and solos focused solely on destruction, madness and the chaos that usually comes along with existence have no comparison in the world and history of music.

When originally formed as Metal Militia, KREATOR embraced the concept and epitome of violence, and decided to set out as an example of how quality and technicality outlive any ephemeral fashion dictated by the media. This is a record that was released at a time when the Berlin Wall was still a reality, when Pac-man was the world leading video game and the cold war between the two most powerful countries in the world was a total reality, now, the world might seem like it has changed a lot in the last 30 years, but like good wines and horror legends, KREATOR has stood the test of time,  and a terrible certainty, a concept, that along with the album art, reveals that memento when all you thought to be pure and clean turns out to be exactly the opposite of what it stands against in the first place, has not lost its meaning and importance as the foundation into which this album was created.

Originally released as their third full length album of KREATOR in 1987, this is now one of the four remasters produced as a gift to the old fans and as a window to the first full length albums of the band for the new generation of fans. A perfect ten, as this is part of the original Thrash Metal bible that makes bands like Havoc and Municipal Waste what they are today, and some of the harshest head bangers in the metal temple list of attendants would not be what they are today if it wasn’t for this German Masters of Metal.
