Madder Mortem - All Flesh Is Grass (CD)

Norway's Madder Mortem are releasing their third album named All Flesh Is Grass. Funny title for an album isn't it? To tell you the truth I didn't like it much, and to be straightforward I found it pretty confusing to listen to.
I listened to it over and over again trying to persuade myself that I liked what I was hearing, but in vain. Ok, I found some interesting parts in guitar playing which was becoming pretty catchy in some parts of the songs, and the female vocals were becoming really enchanting from time to time, but still this just wasn''t enough. As I mentioned before I found the cd confusing to listen to, in the sense that the band was wrongly trying to combine many styles of heavy metal music producing a rhythmless and unstable mass of tunes. One of the main things that did harm to All Flesh Is Grass in my opinion was the wrong overuse of the progressive style, which after some time made the hearing unbearable.
One thing that makes the hearing of All Flesh Is Grass a bit bareable is the production, which I might admit is crystal clear and well worked at enabling the listener to hear every minor detail concerning the already confusing music.
Generally speaking and in my point of view All Flesh Is Grass is an album that needed more work in order for the band itself to make up its mind and arrive into conclusions, or maybe its just me.
