Magical Heart - Another Wonderland

Magical Heart
Another Wonderland
by Marcos "Big Daddy" Garcia at 08 June 2018, 11:56 AM

In the last five years, a great number of bands playing what some call Melodic Rock arose from the underground. It’s not a new Metal/Rock genre, but just a new way of playing the old and good Hard Rock in a modern way. It’s not strange to play in such way, because all in Metal and Rock is really cyclic. The work from the quartet MAGICAL HEART is really good. Their new release, the album “Another Wonderland”, shows it clearly. It’s just the old and good way of playing Hard Rock, but with a modern shape. Their melodies are fine; the choruses really hook you, the vocals present very good and tender tunes, the guitars really create very good charming riffs, and the rhythm foundations created by bass guitar and drums is solid. The band do not use an exaggerated musical technique, because it’s not their focus, and even not being the most original band in the world, they do a good work, indeed.

On the sound quality, we must say that they had a good time to work. I say that because they sound clear and aggressive in the right proportions, with a clear insight guiding the work. This resulted on a heavy and melodic form of music, with a charming energy, that flows from our speakers. With all things working like a greasy machine, “Another Wonderland” is really a good album, with moments that will remind the fans from JANE’S ADDICTION works. “Dream No More” and “Silence and Dreams” with their easy melodies and good amount of weight (very good vocals are presented on both, especially on the choruses), the tender harmonies shown on “Magic”, the charming guitars of “See the Light” (what lovely ethereal parts) and on “Shadows”, and the very good harsh energy of “Time Will Come” can be said as their best moments, but the album is entirely good.

Their music deserves to be heard for the greater public possible, because “Another Wonderland” is really accessible and good.
