Main Attraction - Main Attraction (CD)

Main Attraction
Main Attraction

Main Attraction is a new, upcoming band from Norway and guess what… surprise, they are playing pure heavy metal instead of black metal which is the most common metal offshoot coming from that country.
It's not difficult to describe what Main Attraction are playing, classical heavy metal with all the typical elements. Catchy and really powerful riffs. The refrains sometimes remind me on some classical heavy metal bands such as Annihilator, but overall it is difficult to describe their music with other bands. A lot of hooks and songs that you can easily remember are their recipe.
A very good new band, well-thought songwriting, chunky guitars and a really powerful rhythm section with the additional well-performed vocals. Their only melanic mark sems to be the production which is very slight and not so well-groomed. Let's not forget we are talking about a self titled demo and I am sure this is the best these guys could do with their budget.
There is not much to say about this album but there is much to hear on it and it proves that heavy metal has nothing to do with weaks. Tracks like Demon Dreams, the glorius ballad with the beautiful female vocals Little Girl or Stop Pickin On Me are really massive and won't leave your ears for a long time! Highlight of their album is the track Norge! which is a song hymn to their beautiful country and it sounds very cool with the whole package.
All those of you who think heavy metal has nothing new to offer should risk an ear and you won't be dissapointed. Main Attraction released a very good debut album / demo and I am sure we will listen them further in the future. Nice job guys!
