Mantric Momentum - Trial By Fire

MANTRIC MOMENTUM is a Norwegian duet that releases their debut album "Trial By Fire" featured by the cousins Christer and Terje Haroy, the trajectory may seem based on pure Heavy Metal, but the band will always far from there. The production seems to me done masterfully and as for mastering and mixing there are only high points to talk about.  The first song of the entitled album "Tabula Rasa" works as a nice intro, with a striking keyboard present and lyric voices in the background, providing an environment as if it preceded the war, paving the way for "Course Of Fate", which features a progressive footprint with the guitars in a higher tone, accompanied by a beautiful melodic vocal,  always bringing extra excitement to listeners, the rampant drum also ensures prominence in some parts of this track. Next, we have "In The Heart Of The Broken", which brings a more banging rhythm, with more elements of Hard Rock and practically one stride in its entire duration.

With a drum intro "New Horizon" this song grows in intensity as its time goes by, although it no longer reaches such a high place in power, the guitar riffs are very methodical and maintain linearity, it seems that the band wanted to slow down the input of the first ballad of the album "Fighter", which in my opinion does not shine or add some relevant here. Very different from "Trial By Fire" which although it is slower, manages to balance the right dose of weight with ups and downs filled with tones of will and emotions this song is the one to remember and look for.  “Final Warning” is the best song of the album for me, its strong and powerful, lead guitars are damn leading the path to victory, great solos, amazing vocals, some parts here remembered me of RAGE AGAINS THE MACHINE and TYPE O NEGATIVE followed by a sensational power metal.

"In The Eyes of the Hurricane" and "Diamond" although distinctive songs brought to my memory something of Symphony X on their older albums, the second one closes the album that has a good share of great moments. You can also check the bonus track, a good interpretation of Maria Magdalena on a good metal speed and female voices.
