May The Silence Fail - Of Hope And Aspiration

May The Silence Fail
Of Hope And Aspiration

MAY THE SILENCE FAIL is a Melodic Death Metal band from Germany and was formed in 2007. This is their first full-length album; interesting the fact that they have two female vocalists, one being brutal and grotesque, and the other just conventional. Honestly, I think they should stick with the brutal one, because it suits their style much better.

The CD opens with "Gods Are long Since Dead"; great guitar work with cool riffs and the vocals tearing up some flesh along the way, awesome drumming, the soft vocals I don't like, I think it spoils the song, I mean no offence, I just think the soft vocals do not belong there.
"Return To Mind" comes next; very cool song until the soft vocals comes in, musically is very good though.

"If It Wasn't For You" is an excellent track; it sounds a bit Scandinavian which is totally cool, on this track the soft vocals doesn't do too bad, but I still prefer the harsh vocals.

Overall the band is not bat at all, I just think they wanted to do too much and sometimes that does not work. One good vocalist is enough and this way the band can be at easy, much easier, the ingredients are there, it is just a matter of mixing them right.
Production is good and front cover is also good.
