Midnite Club - Circus Of Life (CD)

Midnite Club
Circus Of Life

I know that the readers of Metal Temple have used to reading extreme Metal reviews by me, but the latest pile of Death Metal and Metalcore releases made want a small break from all the brutality. When the latest promo CD's arrived my eyes immediately noticed the MIDNITE CLUB new album, mostly for the participation of Carsten Schulz in it.

For you who don't know this man, he is the one that kicked my sorry ass with his performance in the great German Heavy Metal act EVIDENCE ONE. If you haven't heard of these guys, you should better check them out immediately. Anyway, the also German MIDNITE CLUB debuted with the album Running Out Of Lies in 2003, which was released by Escape Music. Five years after (that's a long time) they release their brand new effort Circus Of Life.

Welcome to the circus of life… That's how the German melodic Hard Rock act welcomes you to its sophomore full-length effort. So what do you expect from such a band? The guitar work is really nice and credits go to Steffen Seeger, a great guitarist who really knows what to do when it comes to melodic Hard Rock. The excellent vocal abilities of Schulz are also one of the most important things in here, as well as the thunderous rhythm section. The album contains every 'necessary' style of song, which means from powerful catchy tunes like Circus and Heart Of A Dragon to the soft ballad Crying In A Dream. The production and mixing duties were handled by Seeger himself and we can say that he has done a marvelous job.

Is there any more to add to this review? If you want some nice Hard Rock tunes with groove and over the top vocals you can count on MIDNITE CLUB. I guess I have become a die hard fan of Schulz's incredible voice and his cooperation with Seeger could bring nothing less than a good result. If you find it, then you could get it for approximately 50 minutes of quality music. Enough said.
