MIKE TRAMP is a one man band from
Copenhagen,
Denmark who has released the new album “
Second Time Around” on May 1st 2020 under
Target Records.
Mike is one of
Denmark’s more prominent figures known for his time spent in other bands such as
WHITE LION &
FREAK OF NATURE. Since 1988,
Mike has been on the Hard Rock scene and now 32 years down the line he’s still rocking the joint with his new solo album “
Second Time Around.” The album features 10 songs to get stuck into which have been re-recorded from his 2009 album “
The Rock ‘N’ Roll Circuz.” It’s an upbeat album with a Hard Rock sound to it that is easy to get hooked on. Mike has a voice that is soothing to listen to, almost hypnotic. A gentle vocal that is clear & concise.
Opening the album “
Second Time Around” we have the song “
All Of My Life,” which opens the album with some sweet drum beats and guitar riffs that give you a feel good vibe straight away. The song is the lyrics are captivating and the song is written & performed really well. It’s a fine way to open the album. One that gives the image of being alone waiting for “that” person to join you. Song 3 “
Anymore” is another song that conjures images of someone sitting staring into a mirror full of regret & wishing things could have been different. “
Between Good & Bad” is a good track to mention. It’s quite heavy on the bass, which I like about it. The lyrics are crystal clear & catchy too. I like this song a lot. Moving onto “
No Tomorrow,” the song kicks in with a good instrumental & an “oww!” Lyrically light and musically sound, this is one not to be missed on the album. Closing the album is “
When She Cries.” A softly played & gently sung song that is a bit of a tear jerker. A song full of regret & sorrow. It makes me imagine reaching out to say sorry & try to recapture what was lost. It’s a hell of a song to close on & one of the highlights of the album itself.
Overall, I really did enjoy
MIKE TRAMP’s new album “
Second Time Around.” The album has been written & performed really well, the songs are played great instrumentally & the lyrics of the songs have been written with a lot of passion, regret & depth of feeling. It’s one of those albums that will tug on your heart strings whether you want them to or not, just listen to the album & see! I would recommend the album highly as being one to listen out for & enjoy as it’s a great album overall. Written, performed & produced with skill & quality, no complaints from me!
