MONGREL is a female fronted Monder Metal, Aggressive Rock band with Metal and Punk influences from Southern NH / Northeastern MA formed in 2003.
Opening
“Snakes” with stronger riffs & awesome female vocals which are so strong, reminds me a little of
GODSMACK songs. Heavy riffs with perfectly played rhythmic section are totally great. I love this band from first sounds! At the end of the song, the rate is changed into a Punk climate.
My favourite song on this album is catchy
“Oxygen Mask” with Stoner sounding guitars & wonderful lower vocals which become higher with total power! This all is similar to
SOUNGARDEN, NIRVANA and all grunge echoes. Vocalist
Jessica Sierra has a clear, deep, amazing, unique, and powerful voice. When she sings, her voice reminds me of a mix of
Joan Jett, Gwen Stefani (NO DOUBT), Bonnie Tyler, Debbie Harry (BLONDIE), Shirley Manson (GARBAGE), Dolores O'Riordan Burton (THE CRANBERRIES), and
Sandra Nasic (GUANO APES). Her voice is totally great. She plays with her voice and perfectly shows emotions.
Energetic, aggressive sounds are in
“Over and Over” with nice vocals that have
METALLICA echoes, which drills into the listener's mind. So memorable refrain. The vocals attack the listener right from the start in
“Best Revenge”, where groovy guitars, punky echoes in drums, and kick-ass sounds create a very fine track! Dirty sounds, even
MOTORHEAD influences in riffs in
“Consumed” with power, energetic vocals which could hit every wall, and a great guitar solo that causes me to want to replay the whole album of
MONGREL once again.
MONGREL has recorded very good debut album. In terms of music, songwriting, and production this album is perfect in every department. They play catchy, energetic Rock with Punk and Metal influences. The band plays very good, dynamic, and energetic songs. They present great music, a good work, catchy melodies, excellent technique, and a production that is on a high level. They seems to be experienced musicians. I keep my fingers crossed for them, because they are perfect in this what they do and what they play. Rockers play with passion and I know that one day will be loud in every place about
MONGREL.
