Mosh-Pit Justice - The Fifth of Doom

Mosh-Pit Justice
The Fifth of Doom
by John Foley at 01 September 2020, 2:47 AM

Coming from the Burgas scene in Bulgaria we have MOSH-PIT JUSTICE. They had their first release back in 2012 and this marks there brand new album, The Fifth of Doom, which was released very recently in August 2020. These guys have a sound that is very reminiscent of old school thrash metal bands which is a badge of honour for these guys as they soaked in all these influences and use this in the best way they can. So lets dive in and see the results.

The album opens with “Designed to Suffer” which opens with a pure old school sound with their guitars and the riffin sounds very melodic as well. The vocals here sound really cool and present are those thunderous double bass pedal playing from those drums and we also get a solo that sounds really SLAYER like. Great start so far. Next up we have “Destined to Suffer”. This has an intro that sounds like the coming of your doom. It then jumps into some great guitar riffs and has a cool groove and flow to it. This song features a solo with some great technique that really fits the song well.

Another great song on here is “Into the Light” and rather then have an into to lead into the song the band just jumps right in and wastes no time with some awesome musicianship. The song is a force of speed and precision. Some great lead parts here with the band really lifting it up for a great guitar solo. The title track, “The Fifth of Doom”, opens with an acoustic intro and some traditional sounding vocals and a sweet sounding lead guitar part over it all. The band then comes in and brings the heavy. This song is a little slower then others on the album but really does pack a punch. The guitar really shines on this one with its lead playing.

The last song on the album is “My Transgression” and here that band are going out with a bang. This song has those thunderous drumming and some slick riffin as the band sounds great here. This song sort of changes feel during the middle section but it all works well with a guitar solo that just commands the song.

There is a real old school thrash metal sound present on here and can really here their influences on the album with bands like EXODUS, OVERKILL and FORBIDDEN. The vocals on this album are really cool and to me sounds very like Joey Belladonna from ANTHAX with a hint of Bruce Dickenson from IRON MAIDEN. While listening to The Fifth of Doom you can really picture the circle pits that would be at a MOSH-PIT JUSTICE show.
