Myrath - Legacy Award winner

by Lotty Whittingham at 01 April 2016, 2:04 PM

Imagine being transported into an epic fantasy block buster that takes place in the Middle East; sandy deserts tend be the place where the most unpredictable things happen to those who are brave enough to explore it. This is what MYRATH’s latest album “Legacy” can do for the listener.

Those of you who are new to MYRATH, here is some information. They hail from parts of France and Tunisia. Tunisia is a small country well known for its resort areas on the Mediterranean coast but not its Metal bands. They started out as a teenage cover band. After years of releasing albums, EPs and live shows all over the world including USA, Spain, Morocco and India they have become a well known and respected band.

As mentioned before the album takes the listener into an alternate dimension that you don’t want to escape from. From the opening instrumental “Jasmin” to the epic conclusion consisting of aggressive distortion known as “Other Side” this album contains every chapter you could possibly imagine happening in a block buster taking place in the desert.

Notable tracks on this album include the powerful new single “Believer” which helps the listener to set up a magical scenario that one will never ever want to leave, “The Unburnt” has a grand beat and a sweeping melody that many metal heads can swish their long glossy hair to and “I Want To Die” is the beautiful all-encompassing track that calms things down for the listener yet it still holds the epic vibe the rest of the album is known for.

Throughout the album the listener can be reminded of bands such as ORPHANED LAND and KAMELOT; both grand sounding bands with powerful messages and lyrics.

So overall this album was a great feature that involved some incredible components, if sweeping melodies with majestic guitar work, impounding drums and dominant vocals isn’t enough to persuade the listener to buy this who knows what will.
