Nashville Pussy - Up The Dosage Award winner

Nashville Pussy
Up The Dosage
by Eldad "Blacknasa" Stainbook at 22 December 2013, 12:10 AM

NASHVILLE PUSSY, one of the veteran bands in the Rock / Metal scene and my favorite, mainly because of their explosiveness deliveries over the years. Their musical style has been variously described as psychotic Southern Rock melded with hardness and sleaziness. The best thing about them that they are a husband and wife band Blaine Cartwright and Ruyter Suys, how cool is that? Forming a band together, that’s one of the best things ever, and no, not the Rocking ABBA example. One more thing that I like about them is that the band's lyrical themes mostly revolve around sex, drugs, drinking, fighting, and Rock N’ Roll. Yeah, there is a MOTORHEAD resemblance.

So let’s talk about the album, a thirteen track album yes you read it right, there is even a digipack with 15 songs. That's what I call money well spent; the band, like many other bands, now also got the album released with an LP version, so I'm happy for them. If ever had the chance to check out their previous albums before I believe that you will catch their drift. If you haven’t, it is your loss first, yet this one will be easy for you still. NASHVILLE PUSSY do what they do the best, meaning a Southern style profanity, no holds bar and honest Rock, short songs with great riffing, fast drums and mean machine vocals by Cartwright. For me this album is a masterpiece, yes you better believe it, fuck I have been listening to it for three days straight without leaving it, other than sleeping.

This album as it turned out didn’t make me generate a debate about it because its simplicity is its best advocate, modest words, humble vibe and lots of fun in the sun. Therefore, I will leave you with my personal recommendation if you wish to get high, Rock yourself to the ground or just roughly party all night because this is your soundtrack.
