Nethescerial - Promo 05 - DEMO (CD)

Nethescerial
Promo 05 - DEMO
by Michael Dalakos at 04 January 2006, 10:44 PM

This promo CD of Nethescerial is quite impressive. Not my cup of tea on a 100% level but I was impressed by many aspects of this release. Let's see…
First of all some bio info concerning the band: Formed in March of 2002 under the name Dark Conspiracy and after many lineup changes on the drumming section, the band renamed to Nethescerial and recorded a 3-track promo which is yet unreleased, in December 2003. A month later Flegetho (drums - session) joined the band and in March 2004 they played their first concert at a Greek Death/Black festival. In June 2004, Nethescerial played as support to Mortuary Drape. After all this, the band started seeking for another guitar player. Dawgn (lead, rhythm guitar & backing vocals) joined the band. In January 2005, Noctuary left the band. During this time, the band had finished its first full length album at Fragile Studios. In November 2005, Nethescerial found a new member, Yngve, behind the drum kit.
Ok, this sounds quite typical for a Greek band (the endless lineup changes). Musically speaking: Nethescerial play symphonic Black Metal with a stunning production. Damn, this production can easily kick the ass of major releases. But a good production can't salvage average compositions. So also in this field the band manages to deliver the goods with furious guitar / drum parts, some excellently placed keyboards and tolerable vocals. The four compositions on this promo are quite lengthy but I can't really say that I ever got bored or something.
In conclusion, this is definitely something to go grab, for all the fans of the genre. Let's see what a full length from these guys will have to say.
