Neuronspoiler - Second Sight

Second Sight
by Daniel ‘Dan Disorder’ Spizzirri at 02 December 2017, 8:24 AM

NEURONSPOILER, it sounds like an overly complex laser weapon from a seventies science fiction film; but in reality, it is an absolutely kick arse band from London in the UK. Forming in 2009, NEURONSPOILER have made quite a name for themselves in their native land, and have previously released an EP titled “No One Is Safe”; and their debut album "Emergence". In April of 2017, NEURONSPOILER signed with UK Label Dissonance Productions; and are now robustly flaunting their current album “Second Sight”. This five-piece band, possess a sound that is equal parts hard rock, thrash, prog; and seem to pepper every track with an indigenous glaze of emotive prowess. There is so many pieces to this album, which all fall into place so very well; the guitar riffs are exciting with some really big hooks in the rhythms, and the lead work has a rampaging flamboyance. The drums and bass really fatten out the sound, and really provide weight an attitude; with all the right garnishes of slow touch, but still know when to burst to life with speed.

With any band like this, it is always a given that it is really driven by the vocalist; and my goodness! He comes factory installed with a potent instrument indeed. The vocal melodies display a front man, that has given a lot of thought into making every track have a life of its own; and never boring or repetitive. The range and charisma of the vocals just seem to continually rise in power, and carry the melodies with fortitude and conviction. The most stand out of the eight tracks were “Reclaim your Path”, “Slay the Beast”, “The Brave One,” and “Queen of the Darkness”. While this is an excellent example of this bands talent, I wouldn’t say that it is going to be an album that makes NEURONSPOILER ‘break through’ to become an internationally recognized name; but they are certainly on the right track. Impressive and extremely enjoyable release this one, I am going to listen to this tomorrow morning on my way to the gym. Great work guys, keep it up!
