Nex – The World Collapses Award winner

The World Collapses
by Brian "Metal" Morton at 17 March 2019, 11:15 PM

Every once in awhile you’ll be minding your own business, when out of nowhere, a band so immaculate comes along and kicks you square in the ear drums. That is what NEX has done to me with their newest album “The World Collapses”. This album was constructed wonderfully and is one of my top picks so far this year. It all starts with the “Introduction to the Silence” which is a short intro track that sounds like it was recorded in the bowels of the underworld. It very smoothly blends into the second track “Silence” which absolutely astonishing. The guitars played by Tomasz Roman and Adrian Sowa are fucking incredible.

“Hate” starts off really slow and deep but then picks up, in which the drums played by Mikołaj Renke really stand out. The vocals by Adrian Sowa are fucking incredible as well. The ending of this song will get you in a blind rage if you are listening to it loud enough. “Wide Horizon” is one of those songs that makes you want to get up and just start headbanging. The bassist Daniel Grotkiewicz kills it on this track. I don’t know what it is about this band but they really get me going. It’s all just so just angry and brutal I don’t know what to do with myself.

The song “God” is the most metal song I have heard on the album so far. Fucking hell this song is just absolutely intense and written beautifully. I just want to get up and fuck shit up listening to this one. “Creation of the Future” is one I feel everyone will thoroughly enjoy from the beginning to the ending. It’s just pure Death Metal and will make your hair stand straight up. “Ten Tables of Faith” kicks in like a shotgun to the chest. The fucking pure aggression and angst will get your blood pumping and ready for a pit wherever you may be. If I wasn’t sitting at my other job right now I would definitely start acting nuts right now. This is what I love about Death Metal.

“The Industrial Democracy” is absolutely astonishing and one of the best songs on the album. The final song “Circles” will leave you begging for more. The first minute or so is a nice synth sound that kicks into a mind blowing assault of all the instruments. This is by far the best song on the album. The way it goes back and forth between the slower and more aggressive parts is great. This wrapped up the album wonderfully. I applaud you guys on a job well done!
