Nightmare - About To Explode

About To Explode
by Michael "MettleAngel" Francisco at 18 March 2013, 5:11 PM

From Colombia comes the commonplace named NIGHTMARE. Do not let the lame name fool you. These confessors hold no regrets and will crush your bones with their pounding Metal anthems. This is because they play Traditional Metal with some levels of speed. Formed by the two WITCHTRAP brothers Carlos “Burning Axe Ripper” and Hugo "Witchhammer" Uribe, these friends of hell are all about the wearing leather, studs, and defending Heavy Metal.

This album was originally released in 2010. It was then recorded at Dirty Sound Studios, Medellín, Colombia between November 2009 and February 2010. It was mixed by songwriter and guitarist Edison "Enforcer" Gil at Dirty Sound Studios, between March & April 2010; then it was mastered about the same time. EBM Records has chosen to re-issue the album as the 24th offering for their “Thrash Is Back” series.

I have not heard their “High Speed Venom” debut, but “About To Explode” will appeal to fans of classic acts like RIOT, The RODS, ANVIL, Tygers Of Pan Tang, TOKYO BLADE, METALUCIFER, etc., as well as newer acts like ROCKA ROLLAS, HELLISH WAR, WITCHCURSE, AXECUTER, AXEVYPER, and EVIL INVADERS from Belgium.

Most of the songs are winners; especially, “Leather, Studs, And Rock & Roll”, “Crush The Bones”, and the title track. Although, I would not necessarily consider this to be Thrash, I do accede that is well played Metal and sure to placate fans new and old. So join the invasion, because NIGHTMARE are about to explode in your face!
