Nikki Puppet - Puppet On A String (CD)

Nikki Puppet
Puppet On A String
by Michael Dalakos at 14 November 2005, 9:03 AM

This is the kind of Rock I don't really like. Born and raised as a good poser, dedicated to the writings of acts like Bon Jovi, Firehouse & Co, I find this modern Rock totally flat for my taste.
Nikki Puppet is a newcomer from Germany, the country of ultra cult poser favorites Pink Cream 69, and to be honest with you, in their debut with Armageddon Music they totally fail to impress me pretty much on every single level. Their vocalist, Nicky Groneword, has a good voice but way too typical (see Twyster etc.) for a German gal. Guitarist Christos Mamalitsidis (Greece rocks!) tries to save the day with his guitar abilities, that carry a bit of a street vibe to this album, but he can't carry all the weight on his shoulders. As for the rhythm section, I find it average, with no spark in it.
A couple of good songs like Sirens and Syncronized are not a good excuse in order to purchase this album. Personally, I find this album to be on the same level as Twyster, though Twyster have better melodies. Since this is a new act, I will offer them one escape the stainless steel shovel Michael carries all the time card but there will be no favor next time.
