NiteRain - Crossfire Award winner

by Eldad "Blacknasa" Stainbook at 25 December 2013, 4:46 PM

Anybody talked about Glam Metal lately? So what not just letting this one in on you? NITERAIN, hailing from Oslo, Norway, is a Glam infused Rock N' Roll band, rooted in the 80’s, yet showing off their own modern twist.

The reason I’m very excited is due to the fact that I recently attended a Glam Metal show here in Israel, sighting the same old stuff like tight leather pants, crazy hair, flashy colors and the full 80’ experience. I found it all here in what NITERAIN promises.

With over 90 concerts in 12 countries and touring with bands such as L.A. GUNS and THE 69 EYES, NITERAIN is finally ready to unleash their debut album and that’s what we got here, "Crossfire", consisting of eleven tracks that have a potential to deliver, but the question is if it did?

Let me tell you what happened the moment I started listening to the album on the VLC player, the first song "Bad Girl" shot me back to 80’s Los Angeles scene with bands like the immortal MOTLEY CRUE, W.A.S.P and L.A. GUNS, not doubt that NITERAIN capture the time and ear with a classic sound and riffing, Sebastian Tvedtnæs does great job on recreating the well-known vibe of Hair Metal vocals, making this one to be a true bad girl. Frankly, it didn't stop there as the entire album is fuelled with Glam classic Metal. I think that "Run Run Run" is probably shining brighter than the others, greeting with a more Hard Rock flavored riffing along with the Metallic ambience of the song.

It’s very funny that one thing that missing here is a power ballad, however all songs are great and it’s evident that NITERAIN caught the 80’s Glam Metal sound by the balls, no doubt these guys are on the way to the top.
