NORILSK is atwo man band from Canada, the style played is a mix of Doom, Sludge and Metal. Actually Norilsk is a Siberian town located further up north and the music reflects that perfectly, I mean very cold, slow and dim, also very heavy, overall it is not bad at all.
First track "Japetus" is very mellow with tones of melodies and deep dark vocals, instrumentally is quite good as well, then you have "Potsdam Glo" with great vocals again, the song holds together nicely; if you like MYDYING BRIDE than you will love NORILSK for sure.
The VOIVOD cover is very good for sure, great song and they manage to add their own bits to it, however I would have loved if a song of their own was added instead of a cover song, but nevertheless I think NORILSK have a bright future ahead of them and on the next CD I would love to have more tracks. The production is excellent and so is the front cover.
