NOUMENO is project that was born in the summer of 2007 in Rome, Italy by Emiliano Cantiano and Danilo Carrabino. The 4-track demo that I had the chance to listen has a pretty decent quality sound. NOUMENO are mainly an Instrumental Progressive band with strong influences from bands like MESHUGGAH, LIQUID TENSION EXPERIMENT, SPASTIC INK, SYMPHONY X, CACOPHONY, RACE X, CYNIC and DEATH.
You may be afraid of Instrumental Progressive Metal bands but I think that NOUMENO are trying their best not to bore the listeners ears. Yes they play fast; yes there are one thousand notes per second; that is a fact. But the tempo changes and melody finally prevails in the Panda Song. Maybe the reason I could listen this demo more than once is that there are only four track in it.
While we are waiting for the first NOUMENO full album release, sneak a taste of what's to come from these guys. Italians are proving to have a strong Progressive scene once more.
