Doom-laden Black Metal guttural screams and growls curdling your blood and sending shivers up your spine. These are some of my favorite things. This is brutal music taking you to the roots of metal when it was just Heavy Metal and Extreme Metal; the good old days, none of the 5 thousand genres that we pigeon hole our bands into in these modern times. They have created thick sludgy metal that will be sure to bring a smile to your face.

PAGANUS DOCTRINA has created an album that hasn’t got what would be called a mainstream or big label release. It is pretty much an underground Metal release being promoted by the band, which does always have an upside in quality of Metal quite often.  Maybe not always production wise in saying that, but bands like this do it more for the passion and the love of metal rather than financial gain, thus creating, which in my mind, is more pure Metal. It may not always be so easily accessible but has some different levels of purity that cannot be seen in commercial releases.

These guys don’t mess about and will fulfill that craving for some dark brooding Black Metal with plenty of melody and dark riffs provided to give you that sublime feeling when the music melts your ears. The dirge and grind will stay inside you for a long time with some great earworm riffs.

This album had been put on hold due to financial restrictions, and finally after 3 years, and thank Lucifer, it has been released because this is a great piece of work.
