PAINSIDE belongs to my still rising list of underground bands, filled with high expectations, Metallic hopes and newcomers acts from the mighty Brazil, that I cherish in particular, their ”Dark World Burden” was ranked pretty high in my final annual top 2010, since that, they have released digitally , only a bunch of Singles, today I will make a short analysis of their last release an EP under the moniker title of “Build Your Fiction” that regroup 3 excellent songs.
The music style is still firmly concentrated in the melodic Power Metal genre, with occasional Thrashy riffing and some huge gang backing vocals in the catchy refrains, the lead vocals are very interesting holding a real powerful nature and a real metallic character but never too harsh and even revealing a clear commercial appeal, don’t get me wrong this is not fucking BON JOVI , but the vocals are very melodic and musical, not extreme in any way, even the barely heard cotemporary backing grunts are melodious, and the songs are pretty well crafted with hooks and more hooks.
Along with VANDROYA / RYGEL / HIBRIA / SUPREMA / PASTORE / SCELERATA or ALLOS the new generation is ready to challenge the historic and legendary acts such as ANGRA / DR. SIN / HANGAR / TRIBUZY / WIZARDS.
