Pleasure Maker - Twisted Desire (CD)

Pleasure Maker
Twisted Desire
by Grigoris Chronis at 16 November 2008, 8:28 PM

PLEASURE MAKER? I can recall their previous album, Love On The Rocks, being an excellent 80s 'Sunset Boulevard' Rock/Metal piece of work. Well, in this case the follow-up is equally good, if not even better. Twisted Desire confirms this band has the guts to play solid music from the heart and - even if nothing innovative - you should really pay attention to a quintet…
…hailing from Brazil. Yes, Brazil, even if you'll not notice so listening to Twisted Desire for a couple of times. The whole band's skill is in great level, the guitars are again striking with great melodic and rockin' solos/licks/themes, the rhythm section rocks the house, the vocals are peculiar at times, distinct and well-worked, the keyboards dress up elegantly the music while the production is as needed for this kind of music.
What kind, really? Bring to mind the breeze of bands like BON JOVI, WINGER, DANGER DANGER, SLAUGHTER, DOKKEN and DEF LEPPARD in the late 80s and taste PLEASURE MAKER's crush if you fancy such stuff. The new album carries the same atmosphere as in Love On The Rocks with hardrockers (Feel It This Time, Is There A Doctor In The House?, Do You Revolution), bodyshakers (Come N' Get It, Chance Of A Lifetime, Eden's Fruit) and heartbreakers (Twisted Desire, What We Left Behind, Remember, Hurts Me, Hurts You), all in around 40 minutes.
This is an excellent album, really! It does not have to be a Frontiers or Escape or AOR Heaven release to throw your interest in, you know. PLEASURE MAKER's name must be spread. Such vibe is not witnessed everyday.
