Profanator

“I hate, happy music. I hate when people sing about good things and love and optimism, because it bores me, it's like shut the fuck up already.” - PROFANATOR -Wormed”. I totally relate to the above quote, I just had to include it first because it's so true for most of us Metal fans, but to the point, we have here a fantastic Thrash, Death Metal band that really do sound like FUELD BY FIRE a little, actually, almost very similar. PROFANATOR is from México, D. F.

Whenever I hear Thrash Metal I just can't help but rattle my head till my neck bones ache, it's perhaps one of the only things that makes me happy in life and most certainly helps blank out negatives very easily. It's magic I tell ya, and PROFANATOR have delivered a fine production of true Thrash Metal, sounding a little like DESOLATOR and highly like FUELD BY FIRE; I already approved and quickly enjoyed the first few tracks EASILY.

When I saw FUELD BY FIRE Live at Hellfest in 2014 and listened to their latest album “Trapped In Perdition”, I was perhaps enjoying myself a little too much and the obvious sounding comparison to PROFANATOR's “Mvtter Victivm” made me quickly sense the influence PROFANATOR have for bands like FUELD BY FIRE; the resemblance is uncanny.

As “A Plague Is Rising” begins, any Thrash maniac will instantly love this track. Furiously fast riffs and just pure intensity throughout, the same could be said for the entire album! As previously stated in “Wormed”, we were given a hilarious introduction which includes a SLAYER montage in the 10 second statement, which I find fitting for the entire song and album. The vocals get more aggressive and “sings about the devil”, I couldn't think of any other way to put it than that really, but it does the Thrash justice well!

I'm not used to Thrash Metal having long songs and this is no exception for “Narcocracy” lasting about 5 minutes long, but that's good, isn't it? The longer the Thrash the better! It's a grueling, Thrash skeptical. “Point Of No Return” slows things down a little, but not really. Still keeping the Thrash intensity, there really isn't much else to say if I'm brutally honest.

However, “Life Is Not” has an exceptionally great, insane solo that just left me gob smacked.

The rest of the album is very similar to each other, which is all well and good if you are just looking for a simple, Thrash session, there's much power, much riff and much groove within the furious intensity that has been delivered. It's hard to say much else when an album is so focused on just the one genre sounding almost identical, but if you are like me and love that vibe, this is most definitely for you.

Greatness.
