Psychotic Gardening - Hymnosis

Psychotic Gardening
by Keith Keller at 21 May 2014, 12:43 PM

If you like brutality, you’re going to enjoy the crushing sounds of Psychotic Gardening. Coming from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada with the release of their 3rd album “Hymnosis”, comes a brutal blend of Doom Metal and Death Metal. The songs that stuck out to me the most in this album were “Origin of the Infection”, “Mindfold” and “Open Casket” (Death cover). All featuring heavy riffs and a welcoming up beat tempo which I enjoy so much in Metal.

Their cover of Death’s “Open Casket” featured Tim Roth (Into Eternity) and Chuck Wepfer (Broken Hope) to add more guitars into the mix. The vocals of Psychotic Gardening meld together nicely with a demonic sound that will rattle your soul. Overall I’d say that “Hymnosis” was a good album to listen to from start to finish. To me, Psychotic Gardening sounds like Deicide but not as heavy.

With a decent variety of faster and slower paced song, I’ll be waiting to hear what comes next from Psychotic Gardening. Getting the job done without a record label, go out and give it a listen.
