Rancho Bizzaro - Rancho Bizzaro

To bands that make instrumental music, it’s always a hard trial to reach the fans. Many of them are not used to this format, especially today, when the digestion of music became something that demands to be fast. Instrumental works demands time to be swallowed. But the Italian quartet RANCHO BIZZARRO made a very good work on their first album, “Rancho Bizzarro”.

They play an instrumental form of Stoner Rock/Hard Rock. It’s not the newest thing in the world, but it is honest. It has that abrasive and raw insight that turns everything even more tasteful for our ears. Along with that, their songs are easy to be understood, but arranged with care. With bursting and raw melodies and a very good Western vibe, they seduce the listener. Raw, heavy and thunderous is the sonority of the album, but always having in mind that we need to understand what they are playing (and in instrumental works, this is extremely important). So, we can say that the quartet made a fine job, because even the simplest musical arrangement is clear to our ears.

All their songs are fine, but we can say that the guitar lines of “Five Hermanos” (a very good and seductive song), the greasy presence of bass guitar thundering across “Garage Part Two”, the tribal tempos of “Yo Man” (great drums playing on this one), and the dense and heavy atmosphere that permeates “Katching” are the best moments on the album. “Rancho Bizzarro” is a very good work, and the absence of vocals is not a problem.
