Red Scalp - EP no. 1

Red Scalp
EP no. 1
by Eldad “Blacknasa” Stainbook at 13 October 2014, 6:00 PM

As part of METAL TEMPLE magazine campaign devoted for aiding the promotion of newcomer / unsigned bands, we bring you RED SCALP.

Hailing from Poland, this guys do Stoner, yes Stoner Metal, from Poland, believe me even i was amazed but hell yeah it's Stoner, didn't have a Stoner album for a long time, so, it's an EP at least the name indicate that, however like all good Stoner and Doom bands the songs are longs so you get here at least 38 seconds of music, that's allot.

it's very easy to explain RED SCALP new EP "EP no. 1", it's a straight forward classic Stoner with all Stoner riff and drumming , nothing to savvy nothing to bad, I think that it's great, sometime bands are trying too hard to distinguish them from the genre they are playing; this is the the case with RED SCALP, going all school classic Stoner does wonders for them. No doubt the best track in the EP is number three "Tatanka" that start with some native Indian singing and then goes over to some BLACK SABBATH-like riffing that brings back the classic Stoner to life.

The track itself is a mellow one with great chorus, please try you want regret it, however don't miss "Sin City" that ventures deeper into the classic Stoner Metal with some great guitar and keyboard play, reminding some of old classic KYUSS and ELECTRIC WIZARD; simple, yet elegant Stoner, that is the case here.
