Leave it to
Brisbane to bring us this incredible band
RESIN TOMB with their self titled album to change the death metal scene entirely!
Matthew Budge of
Siberian Hell Sounds joins together with
Brendan Auld from
SNORLAX, and
Perry Vedelago from
CONSUMED to create this death/grind masterpiece from the depths of hell. With the screams from the bowels of all that is unholy matched with the darkest downtuned riffs, and hammering percussion, these three find their true purpose in life and unleash their demons for all of us to enjoy.
The EP starts with “
Abrogate”, and it's 1:53 seconds of the dark path you're about to explore. With its heavy alternate picked riffs followed by an eerie suffering scream, and violent drum beat, you know you're in for a real treat.
The first single release “
Surfacing” is by far the best on the album with it’s hard heavy riffs that
Brendan pulls off flawlessly only to be matched by the hellish vocals that only a man with the throat of someone gargling with battery acid, and vinegar like
Matthew Budge can pull off make this a song you have to listen too.
The final song on the album “
Bestial” is the longest one with 5:16 of fury, anguish, and the quickest heaviest of all songs you’ll want to start moshing in wherever you’re listening. Just a powerful riff consistently throughout. Instrumentally the best song, but without the horrifying vocals would be nothing. This song makes you anticipate hearing more from these guys.
Overall I really enjoyed this album. These three made a great decision getting together and bringing this album to life. I’ve listened to this album over and over again the last few days to take myself to a dark place in my mind, and keep me moving. Honestly the best of three bands made a better one and the future of metal is looking promising!
