Revival Black - Step In Line Award winner

Revival Black
Step In Line
by Cullen Baldridge at 29 August 2019, 8:07 PM

REVIVAL BLACK is a badass modern day Classical Rock band from Liverpool England, "Step In Line" displays kickass Classical Rock musicianship from all. Aspects including vocals.

"Wide Awake" has a bluesy Southern Rock blast from the past feel, the guitars are absolutely astonishing, Dan Byrne vocals are a perfect fit. "So Alive" comes in with cool bass lines, shortly the guitars, drums and vocals take charge, it's a song about keeping on until you feel alive, why would you stop until you do? "Give You The World" starts with a bad ass riff, the guitars have been badass throughout the album, it's a song telling somebody you would do anything for them as the name suggests. "No Secrets, No Lies" is pure Blues Rock at its finest, the musicianship kicks ass, the vocals are pure to the Bluesy Rock sound, the lyrics are self-explanatory through the tittle.

"Midnight Oil" seems like a bad ass blues jam session with cool ass vocals on top of it. In "All I Wanna Do", Dan Byrne voice is damn amazing, it is about wanting to make love to somebody. "Hold Me Down" it's basically about being in a relationship where they make you feel on top of the world one min and crushing you the next and being done with that Bullshit. "Silverline" is some straightforward rock-n-roll, Dan's is comparable to Miles Kennedy, I don't think there's anything either artist couldn't make sound badass. "The River" is shredding guitars, groove bass lines and perfectly placed drums with a little harmonica, it's about wanting to go to the river and wash your problems away. "Step In Line" is the final track and also the title track, It seems to me that it may be their heaviest song on the album but not by much if it is.

"Step In Line" is as great modern day Blues Rock album, they have taken the elements of the seventies and made it their own, if that's your thing, I highly suggest you purchase this album.
