Rumours - Neither Innocent, Nor Wavering

Rumours
Neither Innocent, Nor Wavering
by John Foley at 28 September 2020, 12:02 AM

This is the new E.P from German Rock outfit RUMOURS and it is titled Neither Innocent, Nor Wavering and has been available to buy on cassette or 12 inch vinyl. Not a whole lote is known about this band, especially their identities. Can make doing reviews just a little difficult but sure we will dive on in and see how the E.P plays out. The first track up is “Grinder”. It has a bit of a rockin’ intro to it. There is some good pacing here with a sort of nice guitar melody going on and a very bluesy sound guitar solo to it. Good way to introduce themselves and show what this band are all about. Next up we have the song “Meat”. Right from the start you can hear some very punk rock sounding drumming going on. The guitars then play a pretty decent melody over that drumming. Must be said the middle section to this song has a very catchy guitar hook to it that is worth a listen.

Right from the start there is a build up with the song “Black Milk”. The song has a decent guitar hook to it and some solid rhythms from the drums an bass locking in with on another. However about half way through the song the music goes in a different direction but still keeps the same feel to it as before. Towards the end you can really hear the guitar players utilizing their use of the wah pedals for their guitars. Final track on this E.P and we have “Sunny Days, Dark Souls”. Right from the start you can hear a real rock n roll guitar sound from their style of playing. This song has some very catchy parts to it as well. It also has a bit of a grove to it like something you could dance to.

Here on Neither Innocent, Nor Wavering you can really hear this very old school hard rock n roll sound to the band and there is some decent vocals on here too. The production on this E.P are a little weak and could have done with a more thicker sound to it. When Listening to the E.P you can hear the direction RUMOURS want to go in but they may just need a bit more work on how to get there.
