Sad Eyes – Ad Dicti On

Sad Eyes
Ad Dicti On
by SamiiMittelstaedt at 10 August 2015, 4:16 PM

Santi Gzlez is the only man behind SAD EYES’s band. It’s a Spanish project formed in 2010 and “Ad Dicti On” is the third full-length released by Necromance Records. With many guests from National Scene, it’s a conceptual album shows the history of a sick mind and problems like phobias and many more. When the material is presented, you think it’s a pompous band with a fantastic song. It’s not the impression I got it.

The songs are boring and the singer, Dave Rotten had one of the most generically shrieked voices I heard. I’m trying yet to understand what he’s singing. Is it Spanish, English or whatever it is?  The drums are typical from the style – faster double-bass. The guitars are the highlight of “Ad Dicti On” – they’re faster, anger and infectious all the time, with killer riffs with million notes per second, but sometimes is looks like they’re playing in a box. I don’t know it’s the idea, but there’s a bad idea you will follow. Please, don’t do it.  The bass does its role – gives more strength to the sound. They’re good musicians, but was used in a wrong way.

The songs go on like an eternity – the album had only for almost 50 minutes but I needed more-than-imagined patience to not skip this album and listen something to clean my ears. I can’t differentiate when finish one song and start another one. If you read the lyrics and understand the history, it’s a good theme that could be more worked using another way.

The album is confused and you can’t to finish to listen it.  Second the presentation was mailed to us, you could expect one of the best conceptual Death Metal’s albums. But your deception appears in the first minutes when you listen “Ad Dicti On”.
