Solace Of Requiem - Casting Ruin Award winner

Solace Of Requiem
Casting Ruin
by Paulo Maniaco at 10 July 2014, 8:05 PM

SOLACE OF REQUIEM is a Technical Blackened Death Metal band from Virginia in the United States who arose from the ashes of a band called SARCOPHAGUS who were around back in the nineties, after fading away into the abysm of day to day life they decided to return in 2001 under the new name.

Previously they have released three other albums, "Solace Of Requiem, Utopia Reborn, The Great Awakening" their music is defined as brutal as it can be and blending together lots of technical passages and classics bits as well and that is exactly what "Casting Ruin" is about.

First track "Defiling The Spectrum" shows us what this band can do, Jeff vocals sings and screams like a maniac making you feel like your flesh has been torn apart, lots of tempo changes, "Casting Ruin" comes next with killer solos and a whole lots of tones played with amazing skills, double kicks all over the place well timed and lots of effects and crazy noises on the back ground, then you fall in the fields of putridity for more carnage and listening to the "Songs Of Shards".

SOLACE OF REQUIEM have come along from the depths of the black hole to deliver us a great album, very powerful and very technical with complex arrangements, a blend of different styles and becoming that way something unique and innovative.

As production goes I would not fault anything really and the art cover is also very good, well thought indeed, I definitely recommend this album to all lovers of extreme music, and at last but not least the last two tracks are very interesting, "Pools Of Ablation" very complex with lots of solos. Tempos and tones, reminds me of the DEMONIAC from New Zealand on the old good days and closing the CD an excellent instrumental bringing the album to another level and making one feel like being on the edge of space ready to plunge into the infinity "Bio-Alchemy" need to say no more!
