Sortilegia – Sulphurous Temple

Sulphurous Temple
by "Der Bärtige Mann" Gareth Beams at 08 February 2018, 8:01 AM

The Russian/Canadian married hybrid returns to unleash their new album “Sulphurous Temple.”Speculum Tenebrarum” brings in a rain of heavy death from the start. It is dark and heavy hitting; a few screeches of sheer madness accompany the eerie melody. The constant pounding from the black metal vibe is clear throughout, not following any particular band, nor sound, except their own. The raw black volume is booming from the start. The lack of progression through the song may be their own consistency.

Ecstasies of the Sabbath” is another raw, edgy start. It picks up well from the previous song. A lack of change of depth actually goes further into imbedding their sound. The Atmospheric melody is decent; it ticks over well, linking a power guitar with a solid drum. The overall balance is well blended for their own strengths. The main thing you feel is the true Raw Black Metal, if you embrace it without comparing it to others, you should enjoy it
