Taboo - Taboo Award winner

Taboo
Taboo

The new band TABOO was recently formed in Denmark with only two multi-instrumentalists who brought in September this year their first Full-Length-album self-titled taboo, the label responsible right by release is the renowned and well-known frontier records, being it can always expect a good quality both in mixing and production, which is confirmed here with all instruments can be heard clearly and with great harmony, as well as vocals. Guitarist Ken Hammer has made a name for himself during his lifelong career with PRETTY MAIDS, not only as a founding member, but also as a cornerstone in the songwriting. Pretty Maids is a band known to hard rock fans around the globe for over four decades, but Ken is ready to branch out and try a new musical path with TABOO and Christoffer Stjerne might seem to be a relative newcomer to Hard Rock fans outside of Denmark, but he has made a big name for himself with his band H.E.R.O.

The album begins with "Flames" a song well chosen to show the duo's work with heavy guitar riffs reminding me enough of another musical style band in the underground scene called "BINARY CREED", following with the opener, it’s also counts with a soft vocal, an introduction with electronic elements and a great guitar solo. Next up we move on “Bleeding” a very emotional song that mix excitement and chill moments relying on a very good chorus. "Learning To Breathe", "Into The Sun" and “Daydream” dives into a more Pop way, approaching bands like CREED and SILVERCHAIR, curiously I even like this kind of sound, and what the duo did here pleased me too. Following this trend, we have the cover of "See You Again" which was composed in honor of actor Paul Walker, killed during the filming of the movie Fast and Furious 7 the video brings with it the emotional load of the song.  In sum the debut of the band taboo is a good job in my vision, you do not expect something very heavy, but if you are looking for something to relax and enjoy romantic moments here is my indication for this.
