TAINTED NATION is Hard Rock band hailing from the both the UK and Sweden consisting of rather well known musicians from the Rock / Metal worlds:
Pete Newdeck (
EDEN'S CURSE, GRIM REAPER,
KILLERS, Steve Grimmett),
Pontus Egberg (THE POODLES,
LIONS SHARE, ZAN CLAN),
Ian Nash (
Steve Grimmett, LIONHEART) and the skin man
Mark Cross (
FIREWIND,
OUTLOUD,
HELLOWEEN, KINGDOM COME). Their music is a deliverance of Hard Rock mixed with power and modernized echoes. Just recently they unleashed their debut via Massacre Records,
“F.E.A.R.”.
“Dare You” opened the gates with power riffs driven by elements of modern mixing with a fine melodic voice pattern of
Pete Newdeck at the helm. The chorus is totally brilliant.
“You Still Hang Around” followed former's lead yet with a spectacular guitar solo hammering in the style of
THE POODLES. There were a few electronic add-ons that reminded of the cover of the Industrial
DOPE to the 80s hit
“You Spin Me Round”.
“Loser” will make your heyday, pure power with a melodic edge with a smashing chorus. Worth to listen is als
o “Who’s Watching You”, a fast paced Heavy Metal attack whil
e “Your Only Friend” continues ramming forward with a memorable chorus planted and executed with modern techniques and a grand wall of sound.
“Don’t Forget Where You Came From” bites the flesh with low tuned guitars along with an atmosphere inspired by a mixture of
QUEEN and
AMARANTHE. There are also a few fresh ideas and sounds of keys with plenty of power in the vein of
PINK CREAM 69. “Never Promised You Anything” shares the sensations of the
THE POODLES. Energetic chorus & fantastic guitars of the
“Haunted” reminded me the melodies of
OZZY OSBOURNE's latest hit,
“Let Me Hear You Scream”. “Don’t Tell Me” seemed a bit different, still straightforward but also way progressed and complex than the rest of them, a great guitar solo on top of a wonderful rhythm section.
“What Are You Waiting For” is your average modern Heavy Metal onslaught, pretty nice, well played and a showcase of the members' musical experience. I also found rudiments of
HELLOWEEN, NICKELBACK and
EDGUY.I'm totally surprised by album of
TAINTED NATION. The production is in a high level, and the material shows plenty of character. I'm sure that everyone who is a fan of Hard Rock, with bits of melodic, yet tough, Heavy Metal would like to take on this album. Sincerely, this is a must.
