The Dead Goats - All Of Them Witches

Such a bizarre name…but it is nonetheless rather characteristic of the Polish-based Death Metal band THE DEAD GOATS. It is a well-known fact that Poland was a hive for Death Metal back at the beginning of the 90’s; being one of the most underground countries when it came to this underrated genre. Many infused their playing style with a bit of Thrash, maybe Doom, or Black Metal, but it was mostly raw, ultra slow, and brutal Death Metal that would kick you in the face.

According to Metal Archives, the band is currently on a hiatus; which is a bit sad, since I’m putting some effort into making someone who’s reading this actually check out their material. So, “All of Them Witches”, their 2016 Testimony Records release, might actually be their last, but it’s still worth a listen; trust me on that one.

In this day and age Poland still kicks mayor ass on the Metal scene, being known for its furious Black and Death Metal bands. New or old, it doesn’t matter, if we don’t count any Scandinavian countries, Poland has given and is continuing to give birth to some of Europe’s most aggressive Metal bands out there! Some of the more successful ones include: TRAUMA, DECAPITATED, HATE, VADER, BEHEMOTH, and many more.

THE DEAD GOATS are (or were) active from 2011 to 2016 - when they officially put their status to “on hold” - and their current discography consists of the following items: 2 full-lengths, the newest one, and a 2011 release entitled “Path of the Goat”, two EP releases called: “Children of the Fungus” & “Don’t Go in the Tomb”, a demo called “Ferox”, and three split releases with some amazing bands such as: REVEL IN FLESH, ICON OF EVIL, & DEMONBREED. These guys were not sitting on their asses in their years of being active, and they did release some pretty notable material.Check them out if you like ENTOMBED, ENTRAILS, USURPRESS and similar sounding bands!
