The Krueggers
Hysterical Cold Side and Dark Memories

THE KRUEGGERS, are an Alternative / Grunge / Metal band hailing from Brazil and they are here with their new album titled “Hysterical Cold Side and Dark Memories” which is set to release January 10th 2020. According to the bands Facebook page, they have been together since 2010, and from what I can tell, this is their first full length album via Eclipse Records.

The first song that kicks off this LP is “Lying Machine” and it begins with a slow build up into the grunge sound that is heard nearly right away. The vocals remind me of early KORN, which is pleasant to hear. The second song is “Freak Out” and it starts out with a catchy riff that is repeated during the verse. It’s a very laid back type of song, but I can picture it playing on a Rock radio station because of its alternative feel. “Dark Parade” starts with a lone guitar chugging away until the rest of the band joins in, a few moments later. It has a nice little rock breakdown in it right before the guitar solo.

“Wrong” starts out with a clean guitar and is joined by the vocalist and all in all, is a very well put together song. Probably my favorite on the album because of the relaxing 1990’s vibe it brings. However, the album’s title song “Hysterical Cold Side and Dark Memories” starts out opposite as that but still keeps the grunge sound alive in it and is overall enjoyable. The final song on the record is “On Your Hands” and for some reason the production quality for this track doesn’t sound like it’s all there compared to the other tracks. The vocals are too much forward and not blended enough but this song packs in another guitar solo that the listener should enjoy.

After listening to “Hysterical Cold Side and Dark Memories” to me they just sound like your average alternative post grunge band. They remind me a lot of 90’s Alternative and to me nothing really stood out to me with this album. The intricate guitar solos are probably the best parts throughout because the album sounds like it blends together too much to differentiate the songs. If you’re into Alternative Rock, then I would suggest checking them out.
