The Lost Search Party – An Invitation To… Award winner

The Lost Search Party
An Invitation To…
by Damion Finlayson at 06 August 2021, 10:23 PM

THE LOST SEARCH PARTY are a 4 man Rock Band from Medway, Kent U.K. Despite the fact that the band formed in 2018, they didn’t really start working together until 2019. This was due to some members having different musical commitments at the time & therefore unable to commit to the project until the summer 2019. Although fairly new to the scene, the band have formed a growing fanbase on social media platforms. They have released 3 separate singles and an EP “An Invitation To…” The band have per formed a few gigs so far and will no doubt get back to gigging here & there post covid. THE LOST SEARCH PARTY list some of their influences as bands such as LED ZEPPLIN, THE BEATLES & QUEEN. The band members are all jointly responsible for the song writing in the band which makes things interesting.

The EP “An Invitation To…” opens with the song “Oh My Lord,” the gentle sounds of guitar shortly accompanied by the soulful voice of Nick Kent. This song is a slow and easy paced song with a soothing tempo. It’s a song that could be one you’d listen to on an autumn evening by the hearth as the embers burn away into the night. The 2nd song is “Evil Girl.” It’s a song that breaks in with the bass strings burning hard followed by the drumbeats. This Rock song is fairly average in length at 3 minutes 19 seconds long. I picture this song being blasted out a car stereo while the driver heads down a long and dusty highway.

Song number 4 is called “Getaway.” The flurry of guitars and drumbeats that open this song are fast & set at a good pace. The vocals join & Nick’s excellent singing comes into play. The tempo is fast, and the lyrics are smooth. This song is one for those alone times when you need space to yourself for a while. This happens to us all now and again, so it’s a good song to remember. Song number 5 which closes the album is called “River Runs Dry.” There is a great instrumental section to this song, it shows the heights the guitarist Luke Austin can reach. The song has a slow tempo & it’s a song that draws deep emotions from the listener. It is a song with depth and feeling. The music is well performed, and the lyrics sung with passion.

Overall, this band needs the credit they deserve, they could be the next GUNS N ROSES and I mean that. They have that GUNS N ROSES sound and just like them this band can play fast, slow, and soulful. I really hope this band makes it big and this review gives them the recognition they don’t just need, but they 100% deserve it.
