The Murder Of My Sweet - Bye Bye Lullaby

The Murder Of My Sweet
Bye Bye Lullaby
by Sharon "Metal Chick" Bar-Or at 21 May 2012, 8:58 PM

So THE MURDER OF MY SWEET is a Hard Rock / Gothic band by the book but still something is missing. Angelica Rylin has a good voice but unfortunatelyit's not enough to become a story teller in their new album "Bye Bye Lullaby". It takes much more than a good voice to tell a story so the fans or any listener would "buy" the concept. Rylin didn't convince me at all; when she sings, for example, that she's not crazy, I feel how empty this sentence is. If she claims that she's not crazy I would expect at least a scream. And this is only one example of many more…

On the other hand, the creation of the décor was amazingly good! I'm very impressed from all especially the keyboard and guitar solos and harmonies; Very interesting and fresh! Every track has another nature, another way of things which really impressed me the most listening to the album.

Another problem that I had with "Bye Bye Lullaby" is that the chronology of the track list; How's that possible "Armageddon" happens, chronologically, before "Black September" or "Phantom Pain"?! THE MURDER OF MY SWEET should have end the album with "Resurrection" and maybe then the end of the story with a different idea- A better one.
