These Streets - Unfinished Business Award winner

These Streets
Unfinished Business

Labels play an important role on getting an artist gain some name and fume for their talent and work. But people often leave the record label behind whilst analyzing an album. However I find record labels a key to find newer bands and albums. One among the labels I follow is BDHW Rec. The label itself had some killer albums this year such as NASTY RELIGION and LIONHEART’s upcoming album to be released in November. Among these major releases, THESE STREETS, a new and upcoming Californian Hardcore band released their best effort, “Unfinished Business” this year.

Opening track being the title track, “Unfinished Business” kick starts the album with a heavy and down-tuned breakdown paired with Rap style vocals similar to majority of Hardcore bands. Most of the tracks being less than two minutes, the album progresses quicker than expected. The third and adrenaline pumping track, “Bite The Hand” is probably my pick for the best track as the song itself has a lot of different elements ranging from a short lived guitar solo to a versatile vocal style, this song is enough to represent the album as a whole. The album gets heavier and breakdowns get nastier as the album proceeds.

The sixth track “Can't Be Saved,: reflects the foretold statement. I'm my own worst enemy, this opening words pave way for rest of the unrelenting Instrumentation to kick in. Vocals are executed perfectly and I can feel every bit of energy from the vocalist, Cameron. My favourite part is the double bass kicks towards the end of this track which seems as if shotgun is being blasted. “No Way Out” starts off slowly but builds up the pace with a thunderous explosion on drums followed by thick and fiery guitar riff. As I said before Cameron has done a perfect job on the vocals as it's perfectly delivered and versatile on each track. Final two tracks, “Trapped” and “Life From the Gutter” closes the album perfectly leaving the listeners anxious for their future releases.

Altogether, yet another success for the band and BDHW Rec. With a well-crafted track-list such as this, one might find it hard to stop listening to the tracks and breakdowns. I do find some tracks repetitive, but it was just a couple of tracks and rest of the track-list features versatile elements. Overall, an incredible album to quench the thirst of all the Hardcore addicts until the new Lionheart album drops.
