Thy Art Is Murder – Human Target Award winner

Thy Art Is Murder
Human Target
by Brian "Metal" Morton at 26 August 2019, 9:56 PM

One of the biggest names in Metal, THY ART IS MURDER has released their latest album “Human Target”. The Australian band has been a force to be reckoned with since its inception in 2006. Their breakthrough album “Hate” is the one that really put them on the map in 2012. Since then they have been touring and writing new material nonstop. They are now one of the most well-known Deathcore bands to ever exist and one of the best at that. If you don’t know already the band is comprised of Chris “CJ” McMahon on vocals, Andy Marsh and Sean Delander on guitars, Lee Stanton on drums and Kevin Butler on Bass.

The first song I want to talk about it their single and first track on the album “Human Target”. When this song first dropped my jaw did too. Its sheer brutality is everything I have come to love about the band. I would expect nothing less from them and this song is as brutal as they come. I actually had the pleasure of sitting down with Andy and talk about the making of the music video which was awesome. The next song I would like to bring up is “Death Squad Anthem” which is probably one of the most brutal and insane song I have ever heard from them yet it also has a sense of melody to it which is fantastic. This song honestly blew me away when I first heard it.

One track I was looking forward to even before the album was released was “Make America Hate Again”. I actually brought this song up in my interview and was able to find out that it wasn’t aimed at any political party. Andy said it was basically just about how everyone in America is divided and the band has no intention of alienating any of their fans. Beyond all of that the song absolutely fucking rips! I promise you that if you put all political stances aside and just listen to the song you will love it!

“Atonement” in my opinion is one of the best songs on the album. It’s a perfect blend of insanity and well-constructed Metal. The song is full of tempo changes and breakdowns and it will blow your face off. If you are looking for a song that is completely awesome look no further than “Eye For An Eye”. This is another song that completely kills it. The musicianship on this track is outstanding. The last song I want to bring up is “Chemical Christ”. As the last song on the album you expect it to be phenomenal and it does not let you down. This song is definitely in my top favourites from the band ever. Everything about this song is incredible and it will keep you on the edge of your seat the whole time. I absolutely loved every single song on this album and I highly recommend picking it up if you haven’t already!
