Torchia - Ending Beginning

Torchia
Ending Beginning
by Lior "Steinmetal" Stein at 06 June 2016, 11:42 AM

It is true that there is a nonstop dribbles of Melodic Death Metal bands, and certainly that most of them decide to take on the modern course of the music other than blast in the past. However, each band has its own merits and shared values. TORCHIA are pretty much in the same neighborhood of plenty of other bands that have been doing the old Swedish thing but taking it a step close to the end of the 90s, even though they are Finnish in origin. Nationality doesn't really matter, only the quality of the how the music is produced. The band's second demo "Ending Beginning", comprised of three songs, has enough to keep a Metalhead trailing their path.

Tracking the footsteps of the Swedish Melodic Death Metal scene that headed into the 00s, finding itself almost Hardcore breached, TORCHIA encrusted their tunes with slight technical overdrive, several groovy sections that truly fueled it up, grand British Metal twin guitar melodies that sounded so rich under the well-produced demo and over and out crossovers towards the alternative nation that didn't less their quality and level.

The entire set list proved a band with an intention to become bigger than what they are. They might not be striving to originality, but frankly it is the music they believe in and that is a cause of admiration and following. Needless to say that this demo just sounds amazing, it is so clear and polished and not overly done. I recommend tuning in to the opener "Ending Beginning", which is technical in comparison to the others, yet if you aspire to the band's melodic décor, head over to "They Haunt Behind Us" that is almost CHILDREN OF BODOM oriented. Be sure to follow these guys.
