Triphon - Distance Award winner

Triphon
Distance
by CJ "Music God" Plain at 28 January 2013, 5:06 PM

As the owner of an up and coming internet radio network, I am constantly on the search for new artists to play.  TRIPHON is one of those bands that I discovered while searching. As a huge fan of thrash metal, especially of the European influenced variety, TRIPHON hit home with their sound.

TRIPHON is an amazing band. Listening to "Distance" will introduce you to a band that has managed to flawlessly blend American Metalcore, European melodic Death Metal, and Progressive Metal elements into a sound all their own. "Fall Of The Tyrant" is an all-out Thrash assault topped off with beautiful, melodic style vocals. "Open The Gates" reminds one of something you might here from IN FLAMES or EVERGREY. "Your Poison" is a catchy as hell thrash tune that combines melodic style vocals sung over gruff vocals. My favourite moment of the album though is the closing tune, "Distance". It's a breath taking piano instrumental. The only way to describe it is by saying it's the calm that comes after the hurricane.

TRIPHON is one of the best new bands that I've discovered in the past year. Hands down, an album that everyone should have in their collection. Oh, did I mention the album was free? That's right, you can check out the bands webpage or bandcamp site and they will give you the album for free.

Why not take a chance and give it a listen, I'm pretty certain that you will find yourself rocking along with them.
