Tyranny - Tides Of Awakening (CD)

Tides Of Awakening
by Yiannis Dafopoulos at 15 September 2006, 5:01 PM

Ok, as you see I didn't even take the time to see what instruments these guys play. I just copied the promo's line up. Now tell me. If you were I, what would you do with this band? Do you think I have to burn all the copies of this CD so that nobody else will have to tolerate the rape of music??? I mean let's be a bit serious. Who the fuck is going to pay for this thing?
Tyranny (what an ironic name!) are based on Finland and were formed somewhere  between 200-2002. That's what the promo says. I didn't even bother to search for some info about them. Their only release up to now is a MCD called Black Vistae (2003). Now, they release the second wave of pure boredom and pointless music!
Tides Of Awakening(another ironic name 'cause I swear I fell asleep while listening to it!!!) is a Doom Metal release. As the booklet mentions, they play sublime epic funeral Doom Metal. I'll give you a clue about the tracks. There are five tracks in this CD. Do you want to know the duration of the album? One hour and six minutes! Oh yes! There were times I was skipping a track and it was like I was listening to the same track! Imagine the same riff again and again and a voice that tries to sound brutal but sounds more a motorcycle! It really was my worst experience in my whole life! If there was a Heavy Metal council these guys would be in jail for sure! Someone must stop them! Don't they feel sorry for our poor ears? A bit more and mine would bleed! I tried to listen to it again and again but I didn't even manage to listen to all of the tracks one time in a row!
So, this release should be awarded as the worst release in Heavy Metal. They must have tried hard to achieve this! Anyway, if you see this CD, run away from it! Or even better, burn it, destroy it, do something! Now that I managed to review this album, everything seems too simple.
